Before starting this blog I was the typical lazy binge all day teenager. Now, I am trying to change those horrible habits into having a healthy lifestyle. Steps to Weightloss: Portion Control

So I thought I would start a little post series on the steps to weightloss, and have a tip for each post so ya. To start, one main thing that kind of is someones weakness for weightloss is portion control. Some people eat healthy and have healthy snacks but might have too much of it which may be the reason for a plateau or weight gain. So here are some tips on keeping your portions maintained:

  • Get smaller bowls: This is a very simple solution that actually works! When you use larger bowls or plates, you tend to put more into it thus eating more. 
  • Divide the plate: If you see that your dinner is a little big or your meal is, try dividing it in half and then just eat one half of it. Then maybe save the other half for the next day.
  • Out of sight, out of mind: Try keeping your food in the fridge or in the pantry rather then having it layout on the counters and such. Usually when food is in sight, we tend to just go for it. 
  • Learn serving sizes: Try being aware of serving sizes generally. Like for example, one serving size of meat is about the size of a deck of cards.
